Village Permits
Burning Permits are required for open burning, which is not allowed only on scheduled weekends. Burning branches, weeds and brush can be done on the second and fourth weekend of the month by permit. Burning of building materials is not allowed. Burning Permits can be obtained free of charge from the Administration Department located in the McFarland Municipal Center, 5915 Milwaukee Street, on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Interested parties can also contact the Fire Department at 838-3278 for additional information.
Direct Seller Permits are required in order for any individual who for him/herself, or for a partnership, association or corporation, sells goods, or takes sales orders for the later delivery of goods, at any location other than the permanent business place or residence of said individual, partnership, association or corporation, and shall include, but not be limited to, peddlers, hawkers, and transient merchants.
Solicitor Permits are required for any person who for compensation or other consideration, plans, conducts, manages, or carries on any drive or campaign in the Village of McFarland for the purpose of soliciting contributions for or on behalf of any charitable organization or any other person, or who engages in the business of or holds himself or herself out to persons in this state as bona fide officer or employee. A charitable organization is not deemed a solicitor unless his or her salary or other compensation is computed on the basis of funds to be raised or actually raised.
Street Use Permits are required in order for a person to block or close a portion of a public street, i.e. a neighborhood Block Party.
Street Privilege Permits are required for the use of the streets, alleys, sidewalks or other public ways or places in the Village of McFarland for the purpose of moving any building or structure or of encumbering the street, alley, sidewalk or way with materials necessary in and about the construction or demolition of any building or structure.
