E.D. Locke Public Library is the fortunate recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Madison Community Foundation. This grant will be used over the next two years to build an in-depth collection of books and instructional dvds related to a wide variety of crafts and hobbies.
E.D. Locke is one of 12 public libraries in Dane County that have been selected to receive this collection development grant. Libraries were selected on the basis of having received previous grants from the Foundation. E.D. Locke previously received a grant in 2005 for its capital building campaign.Subject areas other libraries have chosen include: sports and fitness, popular science, cooking and nutrition, film history, anime, audiobooks, music, art and architecture, ecology and environment, and world culture. Many of the titles being selected through the grants are unique to our library system, and will contribute to a much richer shared collection.Suggestions for materials to purchase for the grant are welcomed at the library. We also have a wish list available for extra materials if you would like to donate to the collection. Above all, come in and enjoy these beautiful books and movies about your favorite craft or hobby!
