The Village of McFarland dog park opened August 21, 2009. The dog park is located at the intersection of Perrot Place and Elvehjem Road. Come see what all the barking is about!!!

McFarland Dog Exercise Area Permit Required to Use Dog Park
The McFarland Dog Park is approximately 7 acres in size. The park is not included in the Dane County Dog Park system because it does not meet their requirement for a minimum of 20 acres. Therefore, your Dane County dog park permit will not be valid at the McFarland Dog Park. You will need to purchase a separate permit in order to use the park.
In order to use the McFarland Dog Exercise Area, dogs must display a valid municipal license tag and a McFarland dog park permit must be obtained. Dane County dog exercise permits are not valid at this dog park.
DAILY PERMITS
1. Complete the Daily Dog Permit Self Registration form provided.
2. Place the white copy of the permit (along with your payment) into the envelope and place it in the collection tube.
3. Keep the yellow carbon copy with you.

ANNUAL PERMITS
Annual permits can be purchased at McFarland Municipal Center, 5915 Milwaukee St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You must provide your dog's municipal license to purchase an annual permit.

McFarland Dog Exercise Area Guidelines
Users of this facility do so at their own risk. The Village of McFarland is not liable for any damage or injury to humans or pets.
Dogs must wear current rabies, dog license, park permit and owner ID tags. Those purchasing a daily permit must carry a copy of the permit while using the park.
Dogs must remain on a leash until inside the gated park area.
Poop and scoop is mandatory. All waste must be picked up and placed in designated receptacles.
Human food, glass containers and smoking are prohibited.
This is a playground for dogs. Children must be supervised closely at all times.
Dogs must be under the control of the owner or responsible party.
Dogs are not allowed to disturb wildlife or interfere with other park
users. Dogs shall not intimidate, attack or threaten any other person or another pet.
Female dogs in heat and sick dogs are not allowed in the park. Dogs under 4 months of age not fully vaccinated are not allowed in the park.
Aggressive dogs are not welcome. A dog behaving aggressively must be immediately leashed and removed from the area.
Bring plenty of water to keep your pet hydrated during play.
Hours of Operation
The dog park is open all year from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days per week. The park may be closed without notice due to extreme weather or for needed repairs.
Dog Park Greeters
The Dog Park will have volunteer greeters at peak times (evenings and weekend ends) during the opening week. They will be available to answer questions and assist park users. If you are unfamiliar with dog parks, please consider coming the first time without your dog at a time when someone will be available to assist you.
