How can I sign up for the Senior meal program?
Call the Senior Outreach office at 838-7117. The Nutrition site is open at noon Monday through Fridays at the McFarland Municipal Center. The cost is on a donation basis for residents over age 60. Meals must be reserved one business day prior to eating.

When is the Food Pantry open and who qualifies to use it?
The Food Pantry is open from 3 – 6 pm on Mondays. It is located at 5307 Hough Street, McFarland. Participants must prove that they live in the McFarland School District. Income guidelines have been established to determine who qualifies to use the pantry. Call (608) 658-0927 to learn about the guidelines.

Who are your clients?
We serve older (age 60) and disabled adults. Clients must live in McFarland,
Cambridge, Rockdale or the Towns of Christiana, Dunn, Pleasant Springs or Rutland.
Where is your Senior Center?
The Senior Outreach Department is located in the Municipal Center, 5915 Milwaukee St., McFarland. The facility is shared with other municipal departments (i.e. administration, police, fire, EMS and community development). The Outreach offices, nutrition site and conference rooms are located in the center. The phone number is 608 838-7117.
Tell me about the Foot Clinic.
The Foot Clinic provides toenail clipping for non-diabetic Seniors who are unable to cut their own toe nails. A clinic is available every second Wednesday of the month in McFarland, and rotates between the Cottages Community Room and Williamstown Bay Apartments. The staff is contracted through Stoughton Hospital Home Health. Cost is $15. Appointments must be made in advance by calling Senior Outreach, 838-7117.
Do you have rides to medical appointments?
We have volunteers who provide rides in their personal cars for Seniors. Medical appointments are the primary uses for these rides. Destinations for these rides are McFarland, Stoughton and Madison. Cost is on a donation basis. Reservations should be made 2-3 business days in advance. Call the Senior Outreach office at 838-7117 to reach the coordinator of the rides. (Sorry, we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs.)
Do you loan out medical equipment?
Yes. We have a loan closet in the McFarland Municipal Center. Some of the items we include are: shower benches, walkers, raised toilet seats and wheelchairs. A $5 donation is asked for each item checked out for the short term use.
Do you publish a newsletter?
We publish a monthly newsletter. The primary purpose of the newsletter is to share information. Included in it are the monthly nutrition menus, the monthly calendar of events, highlights of upcoming programs, and information relevant to Seniors. To subscribe, send $5 (to cover the cost of postage) to the Senior Outreach Services Dept., PO Box 110, McFarland, WI 53558. (Checks are to be made out to “Senior Outreach”.)
Do you provide social activities?
We sponsor monthly activities for seniors which are varied for Seniors’ different interests. There is also a social club for seniors which hosts card parties, bingo, and day trips. For details, call the Senior Outreach office (838-7117).
What is case management and who provides it?
Case management is the distribution of information and coordination of services for older adults who require multiple services over an extended period of time. These might include: assessing needs of the older adult and family members; linking or referring individuals to agencies and organizations based on their needs; coordinating and monitoring services; educating older adults and community members about aging issues; counseling persons to assist them in making informed choices; and advocating on behalf of older adults.
Senior Outreach Services Department has two staff members who are available to assist older adults and their families in case management. They are Lori Andersen and Sara Sprang.
