Responsibilities: General Patrol Officer Duties to include: traffic enforcement, accident investigation, calls for service, community policing, state law and ordinance enforcement, special events, etc.

Salary:   $23.86 - $30.90 per hour  **Salary dependent on qualifications - Lateral Entry Applicants Encouraged**

Qualifications: U.S. Citizen; Driver license; Good driving record; Good physical condition; Ability to achieve criteria necessary for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification - Completion of Basic Recruit Academy not required for application; High school diploma; 60 college credits; Ability to possess a firearm; No felony convictions; No domestic abuse convictions; Vision correctable to 20/20;Good verbal and written communication skills; React quickly and effectively to stressful situations; Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems; Clear and concise speech; Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously; Ability to perform essential functions of this position; Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment

Notes: Written exam; Oral interviews; Psychological profile; Medical examination; Vision examination; Drug screening; Background investigation; Physical fitness/agility screening; Lateral Transfers Encouraged. Completion of Section 6 questions on the DJ-LE-330 is required. Application can be submitted via email, mail, or personal delivery. Written test scheduled for April 7 and 8, 2017.  SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS - Ongoing Recruitment

The Village of McFarland is currently accepting applications for School Crossing Guard positions beginning in September of 2016. This position is responsible for safely escorting school age children across heavily traveled streets, monitoring the approach of children and of oncoming traffic, and stopping traffic if necessary to enable children to cross the street safely.

Must be at least 18 years old and able to gauge, direct, and control traffic, bicycle, and pedestrian movements. All necessary equipment and training will be provided.   Hours are mainly from 7:40 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. on school days, however applicants who can only work morning or afternoon shifts, or on a fill-in basis will also be considered.
