Yard/Garden Waste Curbside Pickup

As of 2012, curbside collection was changed to a fee-based service.  Materials must be placed in bags with Village-issued stickers in order to be collected curbside.  Non-expiring stickers cost $2 per bag (up to 50 gallon) and is sold in multiples of 5 at all municipal facilities and one retail outlet.  Another disposal option is to transport materials to the free drop-off site at the Public Works facility at 5115 Terminal Drive.

The 2017 Yard/Garden Waste curbside collection schedule is as follows:

  • Week of May 8th (the whole village)
  • Week of November 13th (the whole village)

Please follow the yard/garden waste guidelines below:

  • Place all material curbside in open bags or trash containers by 6:00 a.m. on Monday of the collection week.  The contractor will make only one pass and will not go back through again.

  • All bags must have a Village-issued sticker on bags in order to be collected.

  • Include leaves, garden waste, thatch, grass clippings, non-woody plant materials, and evergreen clippings (less than six inches in length).

  • Material must be clean of debris or it will be left on site.

  • Do not rake leaves into the street - place on the backside of the curb.
