The Departmental budget is supplemented by public donations and by fundraising events (Pancake Breakfast, Donation Newsletters, etc.) conducted by the members through the McFarland Fire and Rescue Association (501c3). The members of the McFarland Fire and Rescue Association are the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Firefighters. These additional funds are used for supplemental equipment purchases. In years past the fundraisers have allowed the department to purchase:

  • The latest technology in tools for vehicle extrication ("Jaws of Life" and additional hydraulic tools)
  • A rescue boat
  • An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) with trailer
  • Two Thermal Imaging Cameras and other equipment that, due to budget limitations, could not be secured through normal operating revenue (levy)
