About McFarland, Wisconsin
This growing community with a population of 7,839 is located southeast of Madison on Lake Waubesa. While maintaining a friendly, small-town atmosphere, McFarland also offers all the advantages of proximity to a large metropolitan area.
McFarland supports a thriving business community and commerce park, three churches, a medical clinic, numerous service clubs and organizations, a public library, an indoor hockey facility, and a curling club. The McFarland area boasts rich recreational opportunities for fishing, boating, picnicking, canoeing, hiking, swimming, and biking. The city of Madison, just minutes away, offers a variety of educational and cultural opportunities, including many theatrical events, Concerts on the Square, Art Fair on the Square, the State Capitol and a myriad of offerings at the UW-Madison Campus.
McFarland lies one minute south of Madison's Beltline Highway, four minutes from Interstate 90, 12 minutes from the Wisconsin State Capitol, 12 minutes from the University of Wisconsin, and 15 minutes from the Dane County Regional Airport.

McFarland Community Food Pantry
The McFarland Community Food Pantry was established in 1984 and has had continued support by community volunteers. The core volunteers have a mission and are committed to purchasing nutritionally sound food resources, establishing a cheerful environment and following The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and Second Harvest guidelines.

The McFarland Community Festival is a not-for-profit organization that takes place the fourth weekend every September. The Festival is an effort to provide a place for the greater McFarland community of all ages to celebrate, connect, and have fun!

The McFarland Historical Society offers a well-curated Museum, Norwegian log cabin, and an annex featuring early farming displays. The Society offers publications on various aspects of local history, special educational events, and lively annual meetings in March.
