In 2022, the McFarland water utility began the upgrade of water meters for all customers to "smart" meters. The utility completed this transition in late 2023. The new meters have the capability to provide customers with improved tools to monitor their water use and enhance village-wide water conservation efforts. The meters also allow the utility to assist customers with monitoring for leaks and receiving readings multiple times per day. The previous meter system obtained readings bimonthly.
Customers who wish to monitor their water usage and set alerts for possible leaks are able to do so through an online application called Eye on Water. To set up your EyeOnWater account online please go to eyeonwater.com. You will need to have your account number from your utility bill or by calling the water utility at 608-838-7287. The account number requires periods which are placed after the first number and before the last two numbers. For example, 1.23456.78. Customers are also able to download an app through the App Store or Google Play. Once you have created your account, you will be able to track your water usage hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or annually.
If you have any difficulty with setting up your EyeOnWater Account, please contact the water utility at 608-838-7287 or by email.
